Slang of the Day: ‘steez’

You might be thinking to yourself, “What is steez?” Is it a Bay Area dance where people are skipping? No, that’s the Smeeze. Is it a weed dispensary? No, that’s Stiiizy. Steez is one's sense of style, mostly related to clothing. I’d consider someone “steezy” if their outfit was a head turner. There are details that make an outfit. Each piece of clothing works together to make sure the person wearing it is stunting on hoes.

But wait, what does “stunting” mean? It’s rocking your new pair of J’s. It’s cruising around Lake Merritt after you got new wheels on the whip. Stunting is showing off your best stuff and being on top of the world wearing something you feel unstoppable in. It’s blessing the onlookers with eye candy. 

Style is all subjective. You can think Off-White is genius and I might tell you it’s garbage. We’ve all got our preferences and that’s what makes fashion beautiful. There’s no right way. What you wear and how you wear it is self expression. One’s drip is their own. As long as you feel good, you’ve got it. Your outfit compliments you so don’t let your clothes wear you.
